Back in February, our Starfire contest was a huge success, drawing in record entries at the time. Unfortunately, some people didn't have time to complete their submissions then, but we're happily presenting one of them now:
"I liked the idea of giving the character a tribal theme and I tried to play up the more cat-like features of the Tamaranean race. I tried to keep some of the key character traits from the original design like the purple of the costume, red jewels and big red hair but at the same time I tried to make it look unique. I especially loved drawing the tattoos/markings on her skin, the thought being that her people would absorb solar rays through these markings, like solar panels, which she then channels into her starbolts."

Sometimes I get bummed when we get pieces that never made it to the original contests, because they very likely could have been tough contenders. I have a feeling that Wendy's piece would have done well.
