"For me, the Birds of Prey team is always the core of Oracle, Huntress, Black Canary and Lady Blackhawk, so I couldn't restrict myself to just two of them! I've always loved the retro styling of Zinda but I felt that her skirt may cause issues with her abilities to kick butt, so I started thinking about a variation on this outfit. I wanted to play a little with the retro/vintage vibe and give the team some subtle costume changes that would compliment this while making it clear they are a team. Oracle was particularly fun to draw as you don't often get to see her dressed up and I thought it would be perfect to give her that famous 50's-style up-do that suits red heads so well!"

"I really played it safe here and kept the designs traditional and recognizable. I brainstormed for awhile but ended up with designs that, I think, would actually see print. Huntress sports a hood and protective goggles that also provide a wide variety of visual enhancements. Power Girl's ornamentation is a play on the Kryptonian symbol for the letter 'P'."
"I wanted to give Huntress a more urban warrior look; replacing the cumbersome cape with a heavy, padded hoodie that also looks like a Crusader tabard on purpose, to highlight her Catholic roots as well as her fight against crime. Gone are the hand-crossbows, which are a rather lousy weapon for a close-range combatant as they still take two hands to load and have little stopping power. Instead, I gave her an actual crossbow for long range attacks, and for a close ranged weapon, I gave her a wrist-mounted slingshot. She keeps trick pellets in small canisters in her belt, which includes metal for near-lethal force, flashbangs, rubber, smoke, etc.
"Lady Blackhawk's costume always kind of bugged, so here I have her wearing the outfit of an actual WWII bomber pilot, but customized for her teasing and playful personality. She doesn't need much protection as she doesn't engage in physical combat as much as other Birds, so she's free to show as much skin as she likes."
"Huntress: I've aligned her more with the Bat Family in her look. The 'Naughty Nun' thing I never cared for. So this Huntress is more TDK, utilitarian and sleek. She wears armor that protects the vital organs while allowing flexibility. The cape is more a tunic and scalloped in the Bat style. Gauntlets with the distinctive scalloped spikes and no more pouches' Huntress uses a magnetic waist and thigh belt, ala TDK. Her mask is the only hold over from her original design, but with a tweak. It's protective eyewear instead of an actual mask. Overall I hope it conveys a sense of wanting and receiving true acceptance in the Bat-family while being her own hero.
"Barda: I've tried to combine her two most iconic costumes: the wacky Kirby New Gods armor -- specifically the helmet -- and the groovy "Bikini" look. Essentially, it's a lightly armored swimsuit. Barda could do with a bit for sexiness while keeping the warrior feel."
