More great submissions keep coming in for the Girls Read Comics & Superhero of the Month Birds of Prey contest. Check out the latest batch of entries:

MtReuil's Power Girl & Huntress
"I kinda took some inspiration from Grant Morrison’s 'jeans and a t-shirt' Superman relaunch to do a more casual, less polished Power Girl. I played up the Catholic aspect of Huntress to contrast with Power Girl in style (as well as build). I don’t think this is necessarily a version of Helena Bertinelli that is actually a nun, maybe just one who uses the trappings to get an advantage over criminals who wouldn’t stoop so far as to hit one."

SilverLocust's Lady Blackhawk & Big Barda
"Lady Blackhawk: I wanted to update her but keep in mind her history. Lady Blackhawk is from World War II and pretty much a time lost hero. She is from a time period where she, had to save the Blackhawk team not once but twice to become an honorary member of their team. She worked hard for the right to wear the uniform, so I thought the look needed to maintain the Blackhawk feel, more of an update of the old uniforms. I even included the original Blackhawk’s symbol versus the current version because I thought it would mean more to her as a character.

"For me, Barda is a total representation of Kirby’s work. Even over 40 years after her creation, Barda’s costume has remained very close to the original. I went back and looked at Kirby’s sketches of the New Gods and his illustrations for Julius Caesar from the same period and tried to incorporate a feel of his style into Barda. I stayed with her bright colors because Barda isn’t the type to stay in shadows, she doesn’t need to be dark or sinister to be scary."

Thomas Fummo's Misfit & Oracle
"Misfit: Tried a more serious but still slightly fun-loving approach. I love the idea of a super-powered fan-girl, and decided to incorporate various of her fellow Birds' costume elements into Charlie's costume, as a kind of tribute to them.

"Oracle: Or rather, an 'Oracle-bot'. This interpretation of Barbara Gordon still oversees things from afar, but also likes to intervene virtually via a cerebral link to her own robot, who can provide on-field support to her fellow Birds during a fight or investigation."

[Update]

Comickergirl's Batgirl & Black Canary
"Batgirl: For Babs, I basically started with the idea that I wanted to blend her Oracle identity with her Batgirl identity. So I changed up the color scheme a bit, and added some circuitry, as well as added lenses to her mask, to mimic her glasses.

"Black Canary: I began with a simpler idea: PANTS. Yep, ditched the fishnets and opted for some pants, as they are decidedly warmer and perhaps a bit more comfortable when riding a motorcycle. Aside from that, I tried to remain reasonably close to the original outfit, keeping the jacket, but opting for a more 'blue' color scheme, as a nod to the original Black Canary costume."

[Update 2]

Johansi's Black Canary & Huntress
"For Black Canary I wanted to make her look more sleek, and have her outfit be really dark, almost a couple a shades away from being fully black rather than the usual shiny PVC suit. And zippers. Lots of zippers. The hood is attached to to the suit and the zippers do not unzip the suit. The zipper that opens the suit is hidden in the middle of it.

"For Huntress I wanted to lighten her up, suit wise, and make her darker, color-wise. I always felt her suit was so bulky, and heavy with all those weapons, and pouches. I also made her cape way smaller. I always felt like she never needed a cape anyways but she always had one so I just gave it to her. I just wanted them to look ten times more kick-a** than they already do."
